New President in SSAI - President's Corner Spring 2012

Sigridur Kalman is well known as Secretary General in the society, and recently she was elected President. Professor Kalman is originally from Iceland, but has spent most of her professional life in Sweden at present as chair at the Division of Anaesthesiology at CLINTEC, and senior consultant at the Department of Anaeshtesia and Intensive Care, Karolinska University Hospital, Huddinge. She is also the director of resident training in the County of Stockholm. Her main interests are perioperative medicine, acute pain treatment and anaesthesia pharmacology.

This is the last time I address you as SSAI President. It has been a pleasure and honour to serve you for the last 6 years. As an umbrella society for the five national societies of anaesthesiology and intensive care inScandinavia, SSAI has developed a lot. And it will continue to grow and expand, for sure.
