Exhibition & Sponsorship
Dear potential sponsor
It is our honor to invite you to the 38th biennial congress of the Scandinavian Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine (SSAI) in Reykjavik, Iceland, on 10th – 12th June 2026.
The congress contains an extensive and exciting program with lectures, workshops, simulation session and poster presentation, covering anaesthesiology and intensive care in its entirety, including all subspecialities (perioperative medicine, intensive care medicine, cardiothoracic anaesthesiology, pediatric anaesthesiology, obstetric anaesthesiology, pain medicine). The faculty is estimated to be around 70 individuals, including both members of the SSAI and other international guests.
When the congress was last held in Iceland in 2015 we had around 1100 participants and expect similar number of participants (1000-1200) this time, from all Nordic countries but we have also appealed to participants from other European countries and the USA.
Each day of the congress, there will be 4 symposium sessions, a workshop and a simulation session running in parallel. The program allows for up to 2 industry sponsored symposiums, up to 3 industry sponsored workshops and sponsored lectures. The program consists of morning and afternoon sessions and there are ample breaks (60 min at lunch and a 30 min break in morning and afternoon) that allow for interaction between sponsors and participants.
The venue is Harpan Concert Hall in downtown Reykjavík. This venue has received multiple awards for design and congress facilities and will surely set the stage for a successful congress.
Congress theme – Finding the balance
The congress theme is “Finding the balance.” We will offer sessions where we intertwine this theme into the choice of speakers and topics to allow participants to explore how we all strive to find the correct balance in individual case management, in the way we organize our work environment, and how this affects the balance between our work and our environment and our work and personal lives.
Please find more information on the following pages and on the congress website (www.ssai2026.is). We look forward to seeing you in Reykjavík,
Professor Martin Ingi Sigurðsson
Congress president
