Iben Darfelt receives Acta post-doc stipend

Congratulations to Iben Strøm Darfelt, who is the recipient of the 2026-2027 Acta/SSAI post-doc award. She works at the Gødstrup Hospital in Herning, Denmark. Her PhD thesis concerned end of life care in Scandinavian or Nordic context.

This generous support allows me to continue my research, aiming to advance knowledge and improve palliative care practice in intensive care units—ensuring that attention is given not only to survival but also to the support of patients and their families when death in the ICU becomes inevitable.

The SSAI is proud to help our research talents as part of our multifaceted endeavours in furthering care for our patients. She will be presenting some of her work at the upcoming SSAI congress in June 2026 in Iceland.
