The SSAI is the only anesthesia organization in Scandinavia addressing postgraduate education and training in general and takes formal responsibility for the postgraduate training programs running for the members of the Scandinavian Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive care Medicine.
The development of these postgraduate training programs and the establishment of individual courses is supported by the Educational Committee via grants from the ACTA Foundation.
All courses are intended for specialists in anaesthesiology and SSAI members (all members of the Danish, Icelandic, Finnish, Norwegian, and Swedish National Anaesthesiology Societies are automatically members of SSAI) but exceptions can be made if the hospitations can be performed in Scandinavia and the applicant can demonstrate knowledge of the Scandinavian system.
