Reducing waste in health care research, JP Ioannidis – SSAI 2019 congress update
The organizing committee of the SSAI 2019 congress is extremely honored to announce that Prof. John PA Ioannidis has accepted to give a key note lecture “Reducing waste in health care research” as part of our opening session.
John PA Ioannidis is C.F. Rehnborg Chair in Disease Prevention at Stanford University, Professor of Medicine, Professor of Health Research and Policy, Professor of Biomedical Data Science, Professor of Statistics; co-Director, Meta-Research Innovation Center at Stanford; and Director of the PhD program in Epidemiology and ClinicalResearch.
He is one of the most cited and influential biomedical scientists, not least because of his contributions to improvement of reporting and interpretation of research, including the PRISMA guidelines and his very famous paper “Why most published research findings are false”. This article has been cited almost 3000 times. The title of his key note lecture is based on the article series on Research in The Lancet 2014.
